The Barrie Bombers Jr. C Lacrosse team is participating in the Pink the Rink Fundraising Challenge this Mothers day to benefit the RVH Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre!

On May 10, the Barrie Bombers will not only compete for the game win but will also compete in the Pink the Rink fundraising challenge against the Wilmont Wild's. Each team will be raising money for the cancer centre of their choice. Leading up to the game the Barrie Bombers will be rallying the support of their community to raise money to benefit the RVH Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre and to win the title of top fundraising team.

Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre's (RVH) Cancer Centre is located in Barrie but also includes two satellite chemotherapy sites, one at Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare in Huntsville and one at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital.  As Simcoe Muskoka is geographically large, having the Cancer Centre in Barrie ensures patients do not have to travel long distances to receive care. The centre provides almost all forms of cancer treatments with the exception of pediatrics and head/neck malignancies. The most common cancers cared for in the clinic include breast, prostate, lung and gastrointestinal.

Continuing to expand on the equipment, technologies and tools in the RVH Cancer Centre is imperative and vital to the care of Simcoe Muskoka residents.
