About RVH’s Breast Cancer Services
It’s a sobering statistic, but breast cancer accounts for nearly 25 percent of all new cancer cases in women in our country. In fact, one in eight Canadian women is expected to develop breast cancer during their lifetime.
Thanks to community support, the RVH Cancer Centre expansion opened in 2012 and enabled RVH to bring care closer to home for thousands of patients. Today, the centre has more than 91,000 cancer patient visits each year, saving patients and their families an estimated 12 million kilometres of travel to the GTA for cancer treatment annually.
Proceeds from community events, such as the North Swing Charity Open, aid in the purchase of new medical equipment and technologies, as well as planned expansions at RVH. Your support is helping our health centre continue to be able to deliver exceptional, life-saving and comprehensive care to all patients.
