When I first walked through the doors of RVH, I had no idea what was about to happen. I’d woken up in the night with pains I was concerned about and I just wanted to get checked out as a precaution. I thought they’d examine me, tell me everything was fine, and then send me home. I was only 29 weeks pregnant, after all. I certainly didn’t expect to give birth four hours later.
Almost four years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer. To say it was a frightening time for me is an understatement. I find it hard to hold back tears when I tell my story.
